The aim of Religious Formation as described by Vatican II is to “…make our faith become LIVING, CONSCIOUS, ACTIVE…” according to our level of growth and development and the social situation in which we live.
The Education Commission addresses the life-long learning needs of the parishioners which includes all preschoolers, school age children, adolescents and adults.
Our Religious Formation program begins education at four years old through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our middle school youth enjoy an active program that keeps them busy in service work for the community as well as continuing their understanding of the Catholic Church as well as sharing in “fun” social things to do together.
RCIA for teens is for ages 13 through high school and have not yet received or completed the Sacraments of Initiation. Teen RCIA follows the general RCIA guidelines of the Adult: Inquiry, Catechumenate, Purification and Enlightenment, and Mystagogy Periods. RCIA for teens is a unique faith journey with sessions designed just for teens. In addition to the weekly meetings, there are service experiences, youth conferences, and mission opportunities.
RCIA was restored and decreed at Vatican II. It is designed for adults who consciously and freely seek God and enter the way of faith and conversion. The whole community prays that with God’s help, they will be strengthened spiritually and, at the proper time, will receive the Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist fruitfully.
